About Dr. Leonard

Before attending medical school, Dr. Lado studied at the Arnold Marie Short College of Pharmacy in Brooklyn, New York, where he developed a strong background in psychopharmacology. Following his pharmacy studies, Dr. Lado participated in a surgery residency program at the Baylor College of Medicine, training under Dr. Michael E. DeBakey, a pioneer in cardiovascular surgery. This experience broadened Dr. Lado’s expertise in medical sciences. After a year, he chose to specialize in Psychiatry.

Dr. Lado completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center and began training in substance abuse treatment in 1993. His unique combination of training in surgery, pharmacology, and psychiatry has made Dr. Lado one of the top psychiatrists in Southwest Florida. He utilizes advanced technology and genetic testing, developed through years of experience, to quickly and accurately diagnose patients and tailor their treatment plans.
