About Stephen Bridges

Hi, I’m Stephen. I maintain that one of the hardest parts of healing is starting. By seeking help, you’re choosing to be vulnerable and open to change, and that should be admired! I see that in working with me, you are trusting me with your story, and I will work hard to earn that trust. I truly believe that in therapy, the relationship heals. I want to get to know you and your life, and I hope to work together to equip you with the tools to live a healthy life. Finding the right therapist for you can be an intimidating journey, and I hope to make your experience not only comfortable but truly meaningful.

I recognize that our childhood and adolescence can shape how we move through our world, and how we interact with others. When we experience hardship at that most vulnerable point in our lives, we work to survive as best we can. Oftentimes those strategies may carry through our whole lives if unchecked. Those protections, those strategies, those walls, all were used to keep you safe in a time where you weren’t guaranteed safety. Let me be the first to tell you if no one has, that it is possible to feel safe again. If you consider me a worthy match, please give our office a call and we can provide a free consultation to determine if we would be a good fit!

My approach and values:

My therapeutic approach is person-centered and collaborative, focusing on creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. I appreciate that you are the expert on your life, and that no-one knows you better than yourself. Together, we will work towards understanding the causes of your challenges and developing healthy strategies for positive change. Whether you’re seeking short-term support or long-term growth, I am committed to helping you build resilience and achieve a more fulfilling life. I also have a passion for working with individuals who are members of the LGBTQ+ community and strive to help foster an environment of safety both inside and outside of the therapy room.
